To Farmall Paul,
He did have 2 Johnny Poppers also. 1 was a Model "A" and the other was a Model "B". Both were equipped with the tricycle type front end. The "A" was in pettry rough shape, the engine was stuck, a lot of rust, the tin was bent up, he sold it for $350.00.
The "B" was in really good shape and in running condition, and he wanted $700.00 for it.
My brother wanted it, but I made the mistake of telling someone about it. They went to his farm, took a look at it and offered him a $1,000.00 for it. So you gussed it he sold it with out a question. All did not work out too bad though. The guy that bought the John Deere "B" did tell the farmer my name, and the farmer called me and said that he had something that I may want for the Farmall "C" that I had purchased from him.
He told me to bring a pickup or small trailer to his place to pick it up. I went to his place today and he GAVE me the set of original cultivators that he bought with the Farmall "C", and they are complete and ready to be repainted and mounted back onto the tractor.
Everything except the Deere "A" had been kept in his equipment sheds. He thanked me for telling the other guy about his other tractor. I told him that my brother was really upset with me. He told me to follow him to another shed. When he opened the door there sat a Farmall "M" in very good shape. He told me to contact my brother and that he would sell it to him for $1,500.00. My brother bought the tractor sight unseen, and it runs like a sewing machine.
I offered to pay for the cultivators. But he would not take any money, he asked that I mount them on the "C" when I restore it.
He said that his son has somehow taken his farm away from him, and he would be dammed if his son was going to get the tractors with it.
I really feel sorry for this old guy, he has sold almost everything he has worked for all his life. Just to keep his son from getting anything.
