I have a fairly significant oil leak coming out at the rear of the clutch housing where it bolts to the transmission case. I suppose it is the shaft seal on the transmission drive shaft. I note from the parts catalog that there is a coupling in the drive shaft just in front of the transmission. You can see the coupling through the hole in the bottom. I'm wondering what the procedure is to change the transmission shaft seal. Can it be done without splitting the tractor?? If the tractor has to be split, do you do it at the clutch and then remove the clutch housing from the transmission or can you split it in front of the transmission to make the repairs?
