I sold a gooseneck trailer from the YT classifieds last week. The add ran 3 days. I had 21 people respond. All 21 were emails. 11 of those emails wanted me to call them. 2 wanted me to dis-assemble a hub and send pictures to show their condition. 1 wanted me to bring the trailer to him so he could decide if he was interested or not. (800 miles away)

The eventual buyer emailed, inquired about a few minor details, asked for directions, then showed up next morning, cash in hand.

You"re gonna get a few tire kickers before you seal the deal.

What, no one offered to take the POS off your hands for 1/10 the asking price... as a personal favor to you?
So many people are idiots and think that by insulting you and your item, you will deside to cut them some of special deal... I don`t know how many times I`ve ended up telling some $@#*!& that I wouldn`t sell to them at any price!

I priced it "fair". About $1000 less than a new one, and about $500 less than I paid 5 years ago. I had 5 different lookers say I was cheap enough but they just didn't have the money.

One guy gave me the "Whew! Too rich for my blood! I'll give you half that price". --- Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard it all before.

The eventual buyer thanked me for letting him in on a bargain.

You can't please everybody.

My problem with the photo adds is that people are always backing out of deals they make.I've bought 3 tractors in the last year and didn't get any of them.If someone offers them 2 bucks more they will send your check back,or claim they never got it(but it's marked return to sender). One guy told me the price in the photo add was a misprint and blamed the site.I drove
250 miles one way to pick up a tractor and the guy said he decided not to sell it.He had sold it to someone else.
