I posted an IH SA with a front loader for $1250 and got 38 emails and 1 call. Everybody
wants pictures etc., but no one follows through. Guys are getting like women shoppers. They do a lot of looking and very little buying. Well, once Bush gives everyone their $500 thiugs will pick up?

When I sold my loader 2 years ago I made a video of the loader going through its' paces and mailed it to my prospective buyer after he had expressed serious interest. We made a deal by e-mail and he picked it up when he said he would with the green stuff in his hand. He expressed good faith and so did I.

Just my opinion. If you are going to try to sell a tractor or anything else outside of a local area, you are going to have to supply pictures and lots of info. Most people work off farm nowadays, so they can't just drop everything and drive 200, 400, 600 miles or more to look at it and hear it run. Even if they say they are really interested in it and want to drive up on the weekend to look at it, if someone comes along and wants it, are you going to sell it to him or say, I have a guy coming this weekend to look at it, if he don't take it, you are next in line, or are you going to sell it and even try to let the other guy know? I am looking for a tractor right now, if it's a long way away, and the seller can't get me LOTS of pictures, forget it. What is a cherry super A to you might be a pile of junk to me. If I can't see it, I am not going to buy it.I don't know the seller and he don't know me and I probably don't know anyone close to go look at it for me. Sadly, not everyone is honest anymore, so you have to check it out carefully before you buy or you might get stuck. Just my humble opinion. Chris

Your lucky ! I hardly ever get any emails or calls from ads here. I end up selling on ebay and settle for whatever it brings.

You have to remember that even thought it may be a fine tractor to you, without pictures it's just another pig in a poke to others. There are also people out there that wouldn't buy it if the price was ten dollars with free delivery, they just like to see folks waste time by jumping through hoops.

Well, when you are selling something that is all a part of it.Ive emailed on items and I was hot on the item and a lot of times the seller was not truthful or it was not at their house.( 100 miles from the given location) or they had to put a part back on it I tend to lose steam at that point.

You can thank the Demorats for the Bush money. The economy was good until they got in the majority.

I sold a gooseneck trailer from the YT classifieds last week. The add ran 3 days. I had 21 people respond. All 21 were emails. 11 of those emails wanted me to call them. 2 wanted me to dis-assemble a hub and send pictures to show their condition. 1 wanted me to bring the trailer to him so he could decide if he was interested or not. (800 miles away)

The eventual buyer emailed, inquired about a few minor details, asked for directions, then showed up next morning, cash in hand.

You"re gonna get a few tire kickers before you seal the deal.

What, no one offered to take the POS off your hands for 1/10 the asking price... as a personal favor to you?
So many people are idiots and think that by insulting you and your item, you will deside to cut them some of special deal... I don`t know how many times I`ve ended up telling some $@#*!& that I wouldn`t sell to them at any price!

I priced it "fair". About $1000 less than a new one, and about $500 less than I paid 5 years ago. I had 5 different lookers say I was cheap enough but they just didn't have the money.

One guy gave me the "Whew! Too rich for my blood! I'll give you half that price". --- Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard it all before.

The eventual buyer thanked me for letting him in on a bargain.

You can't please everybody.

My problem with the photo adds is that people are always backing out of deals they make.I've bought 3 tractors in the last year and didn't get any of them.If someone offers them 2 bucks more they will send your check back,or claim they never got it(but it's marked return to sender). One guy told me the price in the photo add was a misprint and blamed the site.I drove
250 miles one way to pick up a tractor and the guy said he decided not to sell it.He had sold it to someone else.

I don't know.

It's awfully hard to find a tractor set up the way you want or one that can be "set up" that way without a lot of money, time and work.

Also, perhaps the email folks just don't really know what they are shopping for? Hard to tell.

Good luck, hope ya get 'er sold,

Allan

They now say $800. This is simply an advance on 2009 taxes, it"s gotta be rectified in 2009. Beware of Trogan Horses, especially coming from Washington D.C. The government won"t fix in a week what they"ve screwed up for years! Don

Optimistic? Yup! I work for the government full time. Civilians have no idea and would never allow things to be done the way they are if they did know! I've been watching from the inside for over 20 years now. Optimistic? If you only knew,,,,

How does that help those that make like 12 dollars and hour or less, and pay no taxes? Better to fly over with a heliocopter and drop money.
