Super C Stalls under load when warm. Won't restart

When I first start up my Super C it runs fine for a little bit but then after it gets warm it will stall out if I put any load on it. When I go to restart it will not fire. I have to turn the gas off, let it sit for a bit, then after a hard cranking it will start again, but will run crappy and stall again soon. I am thinking that either the float or main jet is sticking not allowing enough gas in when it needs it and then when it does suddenly open it is flooding it and sticking in the open position not allowing me to get it restarted. I checked for spark right after it stalled once and I had it so it's not a condensor or coil problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Josh

Been there, done that. If you need a rebuild, you also should soak the carb in carb cleaner (gallon bucket) once you have it apart. After about 4 hours in the cleaner, take it out, rinse it well with HOT SOAPY water, then rinse it again. Once this is done, pump up your compressor to about 100PSI and blow out all the little passageways, including the gas inlet on the side of the carb. You will be surprised how well your tractor will run after this even if you don't put a kit in it, but take it apart (get a new gasket) and do the forgoing. BobG in VA

Hi Josh, Do you have an inline filter? Some of those filters are for fuel systems using a pump
and won't work on a gravity fed system. Hal

I had a similar issue I bought a rebuld kit (bought it on ebay but they sent me the wrong one which I didn't discover until I had it covered in carb cleaner) and discovered that I had a clogged fuel line filter. It would let enough ga through to run for a bit, but put it under load and it starved for gas

Definately sounds like you're on the right track.
Time for a carb rebuild.
