I think you could takle this. Might take some time to get all the equipment you need. I my self would look for something in the 90hp range. Like a 4020 or a farmall 806 or somethin newer if money allows. I would prolly have a 12" disk and a 4 or 6 row corn planter. There a lot more pricey but if your never gona plant wheat then instead of havin a corn planter and a drill for beans you can get a 6 row planter with splitters to do both and only have one planter but they are a lot more expensive. For harvesting id see if I could work somethin out to have it custom harvested for a couple years till you can get your own harvester. I still wouldnt buy a truck if you dont have to. License and insurance for a truck your not hardly gonna use would cut into your profit.As far as seed/chemical/fertilizer costs you can talk to your local co-op or seed/fert company and get prices.I farm 1600 acres and have figured my cost/acre for corn this year is gonna be around $400 dollars an acre. Thats seed/fuel/chemical/fertilizer/equipment expense.
