Andrew, I hate to rain on your parade here But if you think you have a real shot against the Big DSL 1ton 4x4 trucks you are delusional. A DSL shop down the Road from me here in In Texas has a bunch of Hard Core Truck addicts. One guy has a 1200 Hp Cummings that is fully street able too. He is at the outer limits of his factory 6 speed, Keeps grenading the Input Shaft. He had put $3500 in the Tranny in since Sept. Still hasn't solved his input shaft problem. Andrew, All I am bringing to your attention Is IMHO you will be out classed here, You are carrying a knife to a gun fight. Your old 88 1/2 ton chevy is a great farmer rancher weekend warrior rig. You need to find a DSL 1 ton 4x4 to have a real shot against the full time pullers. This DSL Shop I mention above,,,These Guys specialize in 300 ft DSL 4x4 pulling trucks Just my thoughts. You really do need to re think your strategy. If you do, be ready to spend upwards near $20K for a 300 ft truck Hope this helps. Later, John A.
