Is it an FM radio??? My antenna is basically made for a simple poor mans way of making an FM antenna. As for ground yes you could most likely hook on end up that way and be ok but I would use a meter first just to make sure there is no voltage from the antenna to ground just in case it is hoked up odd which does happen. If it has one of those telescopic antennas you might try one lead or the other hooked to it off the di pole and see if that helps
