Winter in the deep south

Been seeing all these cold pictures on here. Thought it was time for a change. The picture is of poor quality because I took it with my phone but you can see the cows grazing green grass in the pasture. (Winter Rye) In fact we have farms around here that receive yearlings from up north every year so they can graze all winter long. The rancher gets paid by pounds gained from the calf owners.
The brown grass in the foreground is summer grass but even it has some green weeds in it.

Our winters are wet and mild but the wet makes it feel colder than it is. Have had highs in the 70's past few days. Our average high this time of years is 55 to 65 and lows about 35 to 40.
We do dip down to high teens to mid 20's some nights but it is so seldom the weather man includes in his forecast if it is a protect plants; pipes; pets night. There are even people that do not have pipes protected from freezing. They just let the water drip all night when it gets real cold.
