They cost 5300 pounds new, they would reduce in value to around 1800 pounds in 5 years, thats 700 pounds a year depreciation. A new Ford or Deere at the time was around 16,000, and would reduce to around 10,000 in a similar time, thats 1200 a year, big difference, and on those farms the expensive tractor would only do the same work.
