Two or three issues, as far as your own cargo its easy, cut and dried with KFB. I'd go for maximum limits, 300/500, with an additional, at least, 1M umbrella liability rider. I carry more than that. I'm not sure if they look at occassional hauling of cattle as commercial or not. If they call it commerical they can write you an inland marine rider to cover the commercial aspects. Thats what I had to get for dozer, skid loader, and dump truck work. Its funny how they break it up and I dont remember all the ins and outs. Custom work has all kinds of ins and outs. Also, your insurance on your truck and trailer will cover your truck and trailer, and your liability to others. It doesnt cover the value of the contents (cattle) unless you add it specifically.
The other issue is if you cross state lines you will need a DOT medical card at least, and probably in state too if your trailer and trailer cargo weight is over 10,000 pounds. That reminds me, mine expired back in November.
Regardless, its not worth saving a few bucks being under insured, or not insured for the right risks. I've been on both sides of the aisle in civil litigation and its not fun in either chair. The only comfort I ever found in defending a civil suit was knowing that the insurance company had hired the best legal team money could buy.
