I currently have only one usable leg, but my home is payed for. I live in a 16X80 mobile home that is 32 years old. It keeps me warm and dry. I net less than $2000 a month. My bills are payed and the lights are on, my refrigerator is full, there is a cabinet full of canned goods, and my whole family is over weight. My children aren't collage graduates but all are are gainfully employed or stay at home mom's with children, and no criminal record or activities. I ate a plate of med rare cow and fresh corn and squash that was left over from last night. A big glass of fresh milk with a fresh home made roll with butter made from the cream we skimmed off the milk. Can I complain??? Sure when I see others in their big houses and new equipment and all the toys. Then I look and see the family's living in the shelters and the kids wrapped in rags trying to keep warm and the moms standing in line all day in the cold wind waiting to see a free clinic and she has a child young enough to be still wrapped and held to her breast. Watching as she turns her back to the driving rain and wind. I am blessed with wealth beyond measure. The man with the big house lost his job and is about to loose his house and everything else. The guy with the brand new equipment is about to have it re-possessed. The guy with all his toys had to go down and bail his boy out of jail. I am blessed. I can sleep next to the most beautiful woman in the world. She may not be to others but they don't see her through my eyes. Shes the woman that bore these children and stood beside me when we were prosperous and stands by me still today. Shes the one that deals with this one legged man and cares for me without complaint. Shes the one I can reach over and will always be there when I feel unsure in the middle of the night and reach across the bed for comfort. Could I complain? Oh yea. But I am blessed. Do I have to hide my faith? No. Can I speak my mind without fear of incarceration? Yes. Can I complain about the state of the nation? Yes. Can you feel free to express your opinion on this forum and not fear retribution? Yes. WE ARE BLESSED. If you don't think so look around the world. Do we need fear of loosing this? Yes. But we are blessed to have the freedom to fight for these rights. The mother standing in the cold is blessed with family if no more than her child and in this country there are the free clinics and people do care enough to help each other. Yes we are Blessed.
