Lou, It wasnt till over 60 I took up the banjo and I played at a Jam (only a player a few weeks then) but afterwards called my son a musician of 20 yrs and asked ' "WHATS WRONG WITH THE JAMMERS I PLAY WITH they change chords just before or after I do" He responded, thats becasaue theyre right and youre wrong lol He told me to listen to the time and count with one ear to keep in time while my playing should be automatic. Then I tell him I dont hit all the notes and he says YOU DONT HAVE TO HIT ALL THE RIGHT NOTES YOU JUST CANT HIT ANY WRONG NOTES (meaning out of the chord while any in the right chord arent wrnog, they just m ay not be the right exact melody note)
Finally 3 yrs ago when my mind wanted a certain note it tells my finger to go to x string x fret, but after 3 years its startign to by pass a step, when i want a note my finger sort of goes there without thinking woooooo hoo
I finally posted my feeble attempt at picking on a You Tube Video and I was happy Allan ( a REAL Musician) liked it yayyyyyy
