That example is more the guy at the counters fault that the womans. I've been in a couple grocery stores waiting for service at the deli counter and have had women just walk right up and get served before me. I've also seen it happen to other men waiting their turn. One time it was so bad that 3 people just but-ed in line and were served. What I found works exceptionally well to get noticed is to start tapping your change on the counter. It annoys the heck out of the servers. I had a server tell me to stop tapping on the counter. I said, "Well maybe if you served us I wouldn't have to tap on the counter, you served 3 people that you saw but-ed in line ahead me and the other guy waiting in line". Oh sorry, I didn't know you wanted anything. What do you think we were standing there for? I don't do it just cause I'm in a hurry, everybody else could be in a hurry too. I only do it when I'm clearly needing some assistance and it's like I'm invisible to the person behind the counter. I've been in some stores like Walmart and Home Depot where the people on the floor see you're looking for something and quickly walk the other way so they don't have to help you. That's why you can never find anyone to help you. The spot you first and make a B-line in the other direction. Dave
