Todd. Thanks for the post. Ya just gotta remember I'm 75 years young lol. been a longggg time back since I played there. You would probably remember Keith & Betty Sylvester(duo-act - man & wife,Tenor player and Hammond organ) who worked Muncie most of the time. Orens Chicken Shack was not my claim to fame lol. Extra Money . A mans gotta do what a man gotta do. Wife 5 children need income. I still have dreams of torture playing some of the clubs i.e Braggs in Muncie, etc, I would NEVER recommend to any one wanting fame in the music business to do road work unless they would be a glutton for punishment. In My mentioning names of musicians I admire (the Billy Joel-Barry Manilow-) now remember I'm forgetfull of gooderns lol. The real great feelimg for me was the concert at Ball State with John Maheegan back in the 60's where respect for the players was tantamount. Loved the response. Wish I could do that over along with the New Orleans Jazz festival 1991 when My son took me down to Play. Met a lot of good Musicians (real people)including Some of the Harry Connicks guys, Steve Allen and former players from Duke Ellingtons band along with old band members from Count Bassie, even a guy from Australia (Frank GOW) who came for the festival. Oh Well WHO Cares?? I did at the time. Not now. I do admire players who Present their music before the public as people who want to contribute in their way to giving pleasure to the listeners and DANCERS. I hope Old Roy is reading this. He does have the ability to perform but like Alan from Neb says. It's time for him to get up and do it some more, while there is time left. Any way Another chapter (YEA RIGHTTTTTTTTT) in the life of a washed up Piano Player. Come on Guys, Share your Muisic.ITS CHRISTMAS TIME AND Y.T is kind enough to allow it to happen. Reguards LOU.
