A day or two back I suggested somebody take the lead and try to put together some sort of composite video here. Having no takers for leaders I downloaded "Audacity" as Inno suggested and played with it a little bit and I think I can put together a passable audio composite if enough people are interested. Maybe somebody will add some video later, just trying to keep things simple for now. The software is awfully capable especially for something free. It can adjust either pitch or time independently so I hope I can put this together and have it be passable. My resume includes running sound for my wife and 7 of her friends (kind of like herding cats) for 8 years so I have something of an ear. Can"t play anything for beans though.

To keep things simple for now I am going to suggest we use "Silent Night" (4 verses) for our project. Only selected because of the season and it is a simple/universal tune

Here is how "I" think it will work....I would like to put a rhythm section (drum, bass, not much else to start) together first. I will post that back here and anybody interested can download it and feed it into some headphones while they record another track either instrumental or vocal. Software is capable of importing quite a few formats, but to try to keep things orderly I would like to receive MP3"s from everybody. Exception might be midi for people like Allen in NE.

Only other criteria I will add is let"s put everything in the key of C which should fit most vocalists and if you rhythm people could set your metronome at 90 beats/min. I think this approach will allow everybody to coordinate timing issues.

Having never attempted anything like this before I am open to any and all suggestions. Looking forward to receiving drum and bass tracks to get started.

Hope this is fun for everybody

Kirk
