Today we left the cabin with our Chevy loaded with wood and a trailer behind with a small fish house and a four-wheeler, not over loaded at all. left it in 3rd because I wasn"t going to go over 50 or so to not damage fish house. About 5 miles down the road a message appeared that said engine hot, air conditioner shut off. ( it was +12F) The temp gauge read 160F. Pulled off on a crossing and opened the hood, did not appear hot, expansion tank was full of coolant and not under a lot of pressure. out of concern I shut it off and called the dealer service dept., they insisted it must be hot and let it cool. I tried starting it and it turned over but would not start until we waited about 10 min., so I took off but the message was still there, so I stopped, shut it off and disconnected the battery cable for about a minute(service man suggested this) then it started and we continued the 100 miles home with no further incident (or messages) Anybody ever have this happen?
