I have one, I paid $1500 for it in good running condition. I used it for a couple of years and then overhauled the engine. Parts for these engines are pretty hard to find and expensive. The parts alone for my engine was well over $1000. If the engine is torn apart, I would assume that it is in need of rebuilding. What is the remainder of the tractor like? Where are you located? I might be interested in buying for spare parts. : : Can anyone tell me about what an 8N with a : : 6 cylinder engine is worth? The engine is dis- : : assembled, but is supposed to be complete. : : The owner recently died, and his widow wants : : to get rid of it. : Could be a "Funk" conversion using the Ford truck motor. Definately not from the factory. They do have some extra collector value but I don't know how much. They were also done with Ford V-8's. Good luck finding an accurate value. It could be a lot of fun chasing down the "pertiklers". Robert Pripps book on Fords and Fordsons might be of some help. I would also contact the 9n-2n-8n newsletter. A simple search should locate the site for you.
