: Bob, the biggest problem with a clutch job is that you have to split the tractor in two. This requires some way to support one end of the tractor and be able to slide away the other end to access the clutch. I don't think you need any special tools, maybe a clutch alignment tool at the most. I put a clutch in my Cub a couple years ago, but they are all similar in design. It is a little nervous, I agree, because you are dealing with pretty heavy peices of equipment, and you don't want aything falling over. If you don't feel confident, you might want to farm it out to somebody.
: Randy

It's not brain surgery, just a fair amount of work, I vote for go ahead and try it. A HD floor jack under the transmission will let you roll the rear of the tractor away from the front. Block the engine well, pull the hood & gas tank, remove the steering rods where they attach at the rear, remove oil pressure line and lines to carb. Remove all bolts holding transmission to engine and back the rear away enough to replace clutch. I probably missed something so if it looks like its in the way , take it off. It will use up a Saturday for you but if that is less important than the 400.00 go for it. Besides you will have the feeling of a job well done. Good Luck Dan J.
