Reid, Axle mounted duals are always stronger, but clamp-on duals will give you just as good traction the rub occurs when you pull long wise down a ditch or some other area like that. at that time the entire wt of the tractor is being supported by the outside lip of the inside wheel and the clamps on the dual holding them together! Slowing down and being careful is stil the best way to prevent damage. An axle mount dual can cause an axle to get bent or make the outside axle-bearing to fail. If your duals have only 4 clamps that is just barely enough to mount on relatively flat ground if you have 6 clamps them that will be stronger just do not try to get in an area where the duals are supporting the entire wt of the tractor.
