The problem is not a lack of jobs. The problem is that the job market is changing and a lot of people aren't willing to put forth the effort to change with it. There are tons of jobs going begging.
For example, I just checked the local (Denver) Craigslist job postings. There are over 2,000 job postings in just the past week alone. I work for a major aerospace company, and our on-line job search site has over 5,000 (thats five THOUSAND) openings. Yes, a lot of the jobs require specific skills, but there's absolutely nothing keeping anyone with a little bit of ambition from acquiring the skills necessary to have a job.
Seems to me people should get off their butts and make something of their lives instead of whining because someone else isn't handing them a job. I'm not fond of the current administration's socialist policies, particularly since I'm one of the people paying for them, but I'm also tired of hearing people whine about jobs disappearing when they're too lazy to take care of themselves.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
