Hey there Jack, no one said anything about the slaughter of cattle. How about a farm teaching responsibility by having to be on time to feed and milk at least twice per day, How about math skills figuring rations and pounds of milk produced per animal, herdsmanship having to help care for new calves and work through the birthing process. The honesty and reward felt after a day of bailing hay and putting it in the mow. The satisfaction of knowing that an animal lived as a result of your quick thinking and effort. These are just a few of the invaluable lessons taught on our farms. Thats probably why most of us here have a real sense of a hard, honest days work. I don't care whether you are a vegetarian yourself or not, that is your decision. However, do not try and preach that all of us farmers are poor stewards to our animals and land. Every farmer I know puts his cows comfort and well-being ahead of his own family. Your business is your business, but do not go spouting off facts about subjects you are terribly mis-informed on.
