There are no government handouts for raising tobacco. Contracts with tobacco companies is the source of income. Yes we raise tobacco and it is hard, dirty work. No, I don't smoke, chew or dip by personal choice. I've also never heard of a father or husband abusing his family coming home with smoke on his breath. Is it healthy, no but neither is eating big macs and fries. Do I recommend people use tobacco, no but I also don't recommend alcohol, doughnuts, soda, etc. It is legal to raise tobacco and we are honest hard working farm families that don't take welfare or handouts so give it a break!
