Went to see the doc & the CaseIH dealer, yesterday. "Arthritis", my doc says. "I know I have arthritis", I commented, "but why the aching knee?". He went on to inform me that my seated position, compounded with the constant pressure on the pedal, is what's causing it to act up. I passed on the idea of another anti-inflamitory, as I already have a few for my back. The other things to do is stretches before I start cutting, when I'm done & should only cut at half-hour intervals. Half hour?!?! How much lawn can I get done in a day with breaks like that? Yeesh! So, I stopped in at the dealership on my way home. By Providence, there's two brand new seats sitting on the shelf! How 'bout that & the new seats are considerably firmer than the old one. I grabbed a new seat & some new plastic bushings & went back to the house. After some putzing, cleaning & reassembly, I have a mower that won't torment my knee. The seat is firmer than the old one & the new bushings make all the difference in the world. I cut so much (3hrs), the roller came off the back of the deck! LOL! No knee pain, nuthin'. So, yes, it does pay to see the doctor, get frustrated, & figure there's got to be a better way! ;v) Seriously, I am glad I took your advice & went to have it checked. It could have been much worse & I'm happy it isn't.
