I have not had this happen, but, I do have some questions about this, I have heard of batterys blowing up, my tractor is a 1944 Case DC-4 converted to 12 volt system with battery ignition (distributor) which was converted from magneto, bus since the battery is on a tray in front of the steering wheel, I would like to prevent any form of explosion. What causes the battery to explode and what are good ways of preventing it? My alternator is a single wire type with no external voltage regulator, the single wire goes to the discharge side of the ammeter, with another wire from the positive side of the ammeter going to the battery cable connector on the starter switch. All-In-All I just want to know if my system is soundly safe and what are some good preventive procedures? Thanks for the help in advance as I know you great people out there can give a "greenhorn" some advice!! thanks again,-Brad Wies (DC-4 DUDE)
