Most of the newer Belarus tractors did not have glow plugs, but rather have a manifold heater. The heater is operated by a switch on your instrument panel. What it does is heat up a little kerosene "pot" located right on the intake manifold. Supposed to heat up the air coming in to the engine. A good tank heater is much more effective. My Belarus is a 1990 model 825. The 420 was made from 1978 to 1983 and then replaced by the 420A, according to my book.
