Posted by Alberta Mike on June 10, 2001 at 20:29:23 from (209.47.89.106):

There was an auction not too far from here a couple of weekends ago. An older fella had restored quite a number, I believe about 12 totally restored and 3 pretty decent originals. All had good rear rubber. His restorations were beautiful, some rebuilt engines, etc. Paint jobs were factory, in other words he knew what he was doing. Seemed him and momma wanted to do some travelling and he decided to get rid of the whole bunch. I didn't go to the auction but my friend did and tonight he dropped off some photos he'd taken with prices on the back. I'll give the price in Canadian dollars then in US dollars. I think these went dirt cheap, what do you think? Here's some results that I know about:

1. Farmall H - perfect restoration, good rubber, $1900 Canadian ($1250 US)
2. Massey Ferguson 50 - restored, new rubber front and back, $3000 Cdn (1950 US).
3. Nuffield 60 (whatever that is), good original, OK rubber, complete and good tin, $750 Cdn ($485 US)
4. Fordson Dexta Diesel, restored, 3-point, new rubber front and back, $3400 Cdn ($2210 US)
5. John Deere B row crop, restored, new rubber, pressed steel frame, electric start, upholstered seat $3500 Cdn ($2275 US)
6. Allis Chalmers B, restored, good rubber, looks perfect, $2000 Candian ($1300 US)
7. Ford 4110 Diesel, 3 point, restored or looked new, $3300 Cdn ($2150 US)
8. Case S, standard tread, original, straight and complete, rubber fair, $850 Cdn ($550 US)
9. Fordson Major, resored, good rubber, very nice, $1750 Cdn ($1150 US).
10. John Deere M, restored, good rubber, factory belly mower (rotary), $3500 Cdn ($2275 US)

All these tractors started and ran perfect. I think they were almost given away. Apparently the old fella was pretty upset over the whole thing, he expected (and should've got) a whole lot more, but I guess that's what happens at an auction. What do you think?
