Back when I was young and building Volkswagen powered mud buggies, my buddy paid a deposit to hold a Volkswagen until we could pick it up that day after work. When we drove into the guys yard that evening, he and several other goons were swapping the new battery and generator for parts of questionable integrity. I thought I was gonna get my butt stomped or shot before we got our refund and left. It's funny, when you're young, the risks you'll take for $40. As far as I'm concerned, if any money leaves my hand, the equipment will go home with me immediately, unless I know the seller personally.
