While a gasser maybe a better cold starter both types require block heaters. Even if the engine starts without preheating the reduction in crankcase dilution, inproved combustion efficiency, reduced starter/battery wear & tear makes the heater pay. Ever start a engine at below 32F with the valve cover(s) removed. It takes cold stiff lube oil too long to get where it's needed.
Why people spend a dollar or two worth of fuel idling car, truck or tractor engines wearing them out early trying to warm them up makes one wonder. All it takes is 50 cents worth of Hydro with less wear,tear & frustration.
