I'm still going back and forth planting corn. Nick is running the disk non stop and travis is running the field cultivator ahead of me while cliff takes care of all the little things that need to be handled. So planting is going very well. We are running but I'm not in a big hurry since it is still very early. We are about half done now and we will continue.

While planting today I got to thinking about some of the landmarks around that I dont normally give much thought to.

This is the Brunswick church. Sitting sqaurely on a knob in the middle of the prarie. Brunswick was one of the earliest settlements in Trivoli township. All that is left today is this country church and the adjoining cemetary. They are still holding services there and people are still buried in the cemetary on a regular basis.

This is the Concord church. There was also a school here but it has been moved twice in its life. The school is in good hands these days but several miles from here. This church was converted into a residence many years ago but as you can see it is well maintained and will be around for many years to come. The Concord cemetary is just down the road.

This is the Blue school. It is a half mile from my house and where my family went to school. I have my great grandfathers diploma from the eighth grade there. It was also converted to a house and the part on the left was added on a couple years ago.

Just some interesting things from around the community. So much history is lost but these few things remind us of days long gone but not yet forgotton.
