A friend once gave me a Smith & Wesson 38 that had spent a little while in a damp basement and had rusted solid. I tried all kinds of solvents and moderate heat to no avail, I finally ended up boiling it in a pan of water. that loosened up every little thing including a tiny spring & pin hidden in the crane. I hadn't heard of the alcohol trick 'til a while later. This Indian stays away from firewater, some of my Dads old drinkin' buddies tell stories that raised the hair on my head. But if I did need a bit of Granny's Rhu'mtism medicine, rusty bolts is a great excuse. Keeps it handy too. Have fun, Me
