Hi VernMI: I would still trust Toyota engineers but where the problem comes in is the two major factors every large company has.. How much TIME and how much MONEY are they going to spend to make something?? In the large company I worked at a long time ago, it was, and no doubt still is, management controls the general course that the engineers must follow. It was common for managment to tell the engineers "You will have completed your design by certain day. Period." When push comes to shove, Upper management will win. Consider IHC company. Their new "TA" in 1954. Big promo for a huge world wide Industrial company to design a shift-on-the-go TA. How many of those early TA's from 1954 to 1959 failed?? I'll guess 99 percent and well before the engine or hydraulic system did. How many rear ends failed on their 560 Farmall? Managment is a very powerfull force controling engineers.. They can and have cut off money to engineers. Also consider, We might never know since Lawyers are everywhere controlling managment.. Dog eat dog world.. I have one older Toyota and I'll buy another, but later on. cheers.. .ag
