Great analogy. That is the problem in a nutshell. As I said in another post yesterday, the people on this site have more common sense and understand the economy (and real life) more than BO or ANY politician in DC.
The govt takes money from us in the form of taxes and then gives SOME of it back to us in the form of stimulus packages, tax credits and other govt programs and wants us to believe that they are doing us some great favor. Of course, you need a bunch of paper pushers to administer those programs so, voila, they've created jobs. Except those jobs are non-value added. Oh, they DID make a lot of sign companies happy making the signs touting each project that came from TARP funds.
The ONLY solution is for Americans to realize that the Federal (or State) government is NOT the answer to EVERY little problem that we face as we go about our daily lives. The more we depend on Washington, the further we get away from the work ethic and independent nature of our ancestors that made America great.
