After replacing the lube you maybe lucky & be able to adjust some of the gear play out. Jack the front wheels up. Remove the nose cone. On a manual there is a set screw & locknut on the top of the steering gearbox. Loosen the locknut & keep turning the set screw in while turning the steering wheel fully left to right.Snug down the lock nut when the set screw has made the steering drag slightly. The steering shaft splines,couplers & u-joints are likely worn.They can replaced with generic parts or some new Deere components are still avalable. Enjoy the 430. I've seen wildlife come out into plain view just to watch two cylinder Deere's that make such unique sounds.
