You should not get a voltage drop. check for a loose or dirty connection. Trace the wire back and keep checking the voltage. as you work your way back to the source. check at any plug connectors. also check at ign. switch a few 10ths of a volt drop is ok. Your volt meter will tell you when you have 12v then check to where you get the drop and look there for your problem.
