2000 Taurus SE with 130,000 miles. 12V Flex-Fuel engine with the AX4N (good) transmission. (Was a lease, I guess they got the heavier components too)
Ran good and transmission showed no signs of problems. They (SMALL used car lot(4 cars)) are asking $2500 and keep saying the have $24-- something in it. It needs 2 tires, has rust on rear wheelwells, thinning paint on the hood, power mirrors were inoperable, 1/2 of the cruise control buttons worked, and the power window switch plate was loose/rocking in the door.
With that, it seems like NO MORE than a $2000-2200 car. The lot is banking on the fact that they can use the "Suggested Retail Price" for a car in excellent condition. This car is NOT in excellent condition.
It was a solid car that if I owned already, I would have no problem with. Buying it at this point in its life is questionable. Tell me what you think. Run, walk, wait some days and see if they loosen up?
