Ron McGee, It apears that the experts have spoken, not much help is it. Maybe we could help you out a little better if you supply us with a bit more information, like 1) are you seriously thinking of mowing 40 acres, and why, could u use the area more effectivly ? 2) what models, makes of tractors have the dealers sugested ? 3) how much money are you willing to spend ? 4) Do you think u are safer strapped into a seat belt on a tractor with rops or a tractor with a cab. 5) how steep is the land ? degree's get back to use with the answers to these questions and we will be able to offer up more useful advice, until then it sounds like sheep or cows are more for u unless you own a golf course, lol.
