Don't treat the Used Tractor Price Guide as a bible. They're way off sometimes. They say a JD 4020 from 1970 in good shape should sell for $6500, but they go for $9000 and up. I would pay up to $4000 for the 65 you're looking at. $5000 is a little steep, and the 65 doesn't make a good loader tractor unless it has a separate pump up front for the hydraulic supply. If it's a trip-bucket type loader, not all-hydraulic, it's worth even less. I have never seen a 65 with a 4 speed hi-lo. Mine has 3 forward, 1 reverse hi-lo, giving you 6 forward, 2 reverse. If you find one with Multipower, you'll get 12 forward and 4 reverse.

: :according to "Used Tractor Price Guide" 1998, a MF 65 in good condition. a 1958 =$3,060 up to $3340 for a 1962 -diesel- as for the Loader, I love this quote: "the best thing I did with my loader was to take it off".

: I am looking at massey ferguson 65. It is a diesel, 4 speed with hi and low range. The motor has been rebuilt in the last 5 to 8 years. there is a bucket that comes with it, but is not on it. The person is asking $5,000. It is in good shape. what do you think??
