There's no arguement that we need to conserve the resources we have left. We have proven as a people that we are incapable of doing this with the exception of high prices, of which also proves that demand goes down as price goes up. Demand goes down as people wise up and don't waste and only use what they need. We are situated in the heart of the Marcellus shale formation here. Drilling is going on all around and big deposits are being struck. Most on the wells once hit and proven are being plugged. Why is this? It's not profitable with prices down and more gas on the market would further drive down prices. The heck with 'clean burning natural gas' and it's positive effects on the enviroment over other fuels. Until it can have a major profit for the company, the enviroment can wait. Right?
