Orange County Choppers is a lower New York state business. Started in the late 90s. I've never seen the TV show but always figured it was done in California. I only figure that since most TV shows get moved there. Like I said, I've never seen it.
Orange County Choppers got started after the guy made some money with Orange County Iron Works. Both businesses are in lower New York not far from New York City. It's an area that had a lot of bikers and bike builders even back in the 60s. I used to drive over there to get parts for my British bikes and my old Indian. Back then, the hot spot was "Toms Cycle Shed" in Vails Gate, NY. I guess he never made it big, like this other guy.
None of this stuff is in "upstate New York" like the many stories stay. When you see "upstate" it usually mean the story is written by some jerk in New York City. To them, anything NOT in New York City is "upstate." I live in central New York and I'm a good 150 miles north of where Orange County Choppers got started.
