I bet you put "no triflers" in your ads. A truck is MUCH faster and more convenient. It can go fast enough to throw the snow reducing the build up of berms. The disadvantage of trucks is plows can be very tough on the frame, which is thin on even a 3/4 ton HD truck (I just got back from my welder after repairing a bend). He has seen the whole frame crumpled, engine and all. So BE careful and don't smash piles of frozen snow or obsticles. You also have to back drag or shovel a dead end.

Medium sized tractors are built for tough jobs like plowing (I'm talking real tractors here, I have a Ford 4000)but you need a large rear blade and ice chains and wheel weights; 4WD is better. They are slow but do a better job of deadends. With a front loader they can move built up piles of snow and ice. I have both and maintain 3/4 of a mile of a mountain road that gets lots of heavy wet snow. I use the tractor more in summer to grade the road but occasionally clean up after the truck with the tractor.
