Having read other posts, my humble recommendation is get something with three point equipment. Factory equipment is usually better than add on adaption contraptions. You want to move snow. The cheapest way to do this is with a rear mounted blade. That's why you need 3point. The next cheapest way to move snow is with a loader. A tractor designed to mount a loader will get you best results. Some kinds of utility tractors like the "N" series Fords do not have remote hydraulics. Loaders mounted on Fords are usually
powered by a PTO pump or by an engine driven pump on the front of the tractor. You need PTO. You may discover the joys of owning a brush cutter as well. A tractor with live hydraulics is more convenient to use. AC has a system of attaching implements unique to themselves called snap coupler. IHC has also got their own system called fast hitch. Everyone else used standard 3 point hitch systems. Prices for these 40 to 60 year old tractors vary a ot depending on the condition of the tractor. It will cost a lot more to purchase an already restored tractor, but if the machine has in fact been completely rebuilt, generally you can purchase such a machine cheaper in the long run than doing the restoration yourself. As to which model, buy the best running, most capable machine you can get and don't worry too much about the color of paint. Most of us are fanatical about our own favorite brand, but not counting a few imports, there are no really BAD tractors out there. JD70jim
