: : : MY 8N STARTS AND RUNS FINE WHEN IT'S THE FIRST START OF THE DAY. HOWEVER, WHEN I RUN IT AND THEN SHUT IT DOWN IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO RESTART. IF I LET IT SIT FOR A WHILE AND COOL OFF IT STARTS FINE AGAIN. IT SEEMS AS IF THE STARTER WON'T TURN IT OVER WHEN IT'S HOT. ANY IDEAS? THX

: : I've experienced the same thing on a few Fords and the problem has been the Solenoid.Hope this helps, Me

: with any luck indian guy will be right-- but it is common for old starters to wear the bushings to the point
: where the armature "grounds out" when it expands when hot but has clearance enough when it cools
: the fix?? a new or rebuilt starter--
: hope this helps
: stuart from horseheads, ny
: Sometimes a coil will act like this, try a new one and see if it helps.Don
