: : MY 8N STARTS AND RUNS FINE WHEN IT'S THE FIRST START OF THE DAY. HOWEVER, WHEN I RUN IT AND THEN SHUT IT DOWN IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO RESTART. IF I LET IT SIT FOR A WHILE AND COOL OFF IT STARTS FINE AGAIN. IT SEEMS AS IF THE STARTER WON'T TURN IT OVER WHEN IT'S HOT. ANY IDEAS? THX

: I've experienced the same thing on a few Fords and the problem has been the Solenoid.Hope this helps, Me

with any luck indian guy will be right-- but it is common for old starters to wear the bushings to the point
where the armature "grounds out" when it expands when hot but has clearance enough when it cools
the fix?? a new or rebuilt starter--
hope this helps
