removing decals/save paint

i have just finished restoring a 39 farnall h and will put the correct decals on it. i have another 39 h that has the later series decals and would like to remove them and put the correct ones on. is there a simple way thet would allow the adhesive to release and not harm the paint ? it has a good paint job and would like to save it. thanks in advance wh
