I am currently restoring a W-9 and am preparing to sandblast it. I have stripped off all components and sheet metal to the point where all I have is a front frame with engine, transmission, and rear end sitting on blocks. I have meticulously cleaned all seals and openings with a wire brush followed by taping with duct tape, plastic bags and then covered with carpeting to absorb sand impact at those areas. I have experience with sandblasting cars and understand the ability of sand to get everywhere; however, I believe that if you are careful, you can get a better surface preparation through sandblasting.
