"As for mileage, it probably would be better than my old '84 Chev. with 350." When I read what you said there about your mileage I just assumed you meant a GM Chibbie with a 350. It never dawned on me that Dodge builds a Chevy 350 too. If I had known the whole truck equation I could have diagnosed the problem sooner. I would'nt spend any money on a new truck til I checked with the wife to see if she will ride in a new truck. She might mean she will not ride in any truck. That's a lot of time to be working joined at the hip, and then on top of that you want her to load up and go to a tractor show with you?? She might just be wanting some free time to her self, and shes too sweet to ever hurt your feelings. I'm just not sure you'll get that deal to fly with her about getting a truck anyway. It sounds like maybe you want to buy the Freightliner, but you want your wife to think she made you buy it for her comfort. That way you can always hold it over her head when you want to buy chrome smoke stacks, chrome tipped mudflaps, and chicken hauler clearance lights. I'm sorry but I'm on your wife's side on this. What ever she says you need to listen close to her. She's been there with you 32 years too, and if I can see through this flakey truck deal I imagine she saw it coming a long time ago.
