If your problem were mine, I'd start at the battery and replace every wire in the system. Go by the factory wire diagram and then modify it to include an internally regulated alternator like the one in the attached article. Your lights brightening with RPM is the fault of your regulator, unless you are using a generator. Generators need a faster RPM to function and don't kick in at idle. If yours is a working tractor, I'd never leave a generator or separate regulator/alternator on it. They're too expensive and troublesome. For the cost of a repair of either, you can have a highly reliable internally regulated alternator and be done with the trouble. My MF-2135 is still running with a Japanese import alternator and it even matches the size of the original generator. Most electrical problems can be tracked down to poor electrical connections. Get a good "Champs" wire crimper and put all new crimp lugs on your wires and you may solve your problem right there. Good luck.
