You got some good sugestions in previous posts. Especially on shutting off the fuel tank if it is to sit for a while. Fords ( I have a 640, 860, 2000, 3000, ) like to start best at closed throtle or at the most only open a notch - Mine idle in the 600 - 700 RPM range and poitively won't start if the throtle is open enough to put it in the 1000 RPM range. Start cranking with no choke. Then if need pul out the choke and push it back open at once. This is often enough to start. You may have to pull out the choke again to keep it running. If it fires or run a short time and dies you may have to use full choke to re start. I have replaced the metal tube that comes from the air cleaner to the carb with a spiral fexable radiator hose so it is easy to disconnect at the carb to give it a shot of starting fluid. Mine will usually start to -30. Some are sheded but most are outdoors and there is no electricity where thay are used so engine heaters are out. Hope this helps you. The NAA are good machines, don't do anything drastic. -

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
