Karl, back in the days of one row cotton pickers, I saw this a good bit on Internationals, I think. The cotton pickers were mounted on tractors in those days. They ran the tractors in reverse. One wheel does better when it is muddy. With 2 wheels, sometimes mud would ball up between the two wheels and then it would start pushing mud. I don't know if you are seeing those old tractors that were used for cotton picking. The good thing was that after getting the cotton out, we would take the picker off and use the tractors to get the next year's crop in. Nowadays, with the 4 and 6 rows, all they can do is pick cotton. I was told that the big uns run about $280K. That's alot of money setting in the shed 10 months out of the year.
